George Jackson
George Lester Jackson, born September 23, 1941, was an American author, activist and prisoner. While serving an indeterminate sentence for the armed robbery of a gas station in 1961, Jackson became involved in revolutionary activity and co-founded a comrade circle, which, soon after his sudden rise to fame and subsequent murder by California prison guards in August 1971, became something of a global freedom people's power philosophy.
